SLES 11.2 SP1 built from SuseStudio

I’m having some trouble installing SLES using “live installer” during the install process I get an error installing grub:

Error 15: File not found.

I also tried dd to the drive (as I have done many times with opensuse) but I could not boot to the drive.

Has anyone encountered this? I wanted to use SLES so that I could purchase support in the future if needed. The supportability report showed that all the packages were supported.

Hi
If you use the live installer, then create an iso image. If your
going to use dd then create an additional USB stick/hard drive image to
use.

PS, there is a SUSE Studio sub forum where it’s best to ask these
questions as one of the SUSE Studio folks keeps an eye on it

I guess my post was unclear. I made the iso and tried live installer when that failed from the live environment I used dd to image the hard drive.

I’ll post in the SuseStuio subforum, I didn’t see that.

Hi
Was it a raw image or the iso? I use SuSE Studio imagewriter for iso
images

The ISO I used to make a bootable CD. That’s where I ran the live installer from. WHen that failed I tried option 2 as follows:

boot using already made CD. Mount a usb drive containing the raw disk image. dd the raw disk image to the hard disk. I’ve written raw disk images to hard disk quite a few times in the past (it’s usually how I install linux to my netbook). Unfortunately in this case It does not boot.
