Slave Drive - How do I see it on Suse 11.0

Hello …

I install Suse 11.0 with KDE 4.1 on previous Hardrive and hardrive went bad …

I got a new Hardrive and reinstall Suse 11.0 with KDE 4.1 …

Now I took the second hardrive and made it slave on the machine … …

When I click on My Computer - I see two Home directory, two drive blank with EXT3 extension…

What do I need to do too see the second hardrive or what setting do I need to do to see the second hardrive … I need to retrieved some very important file …

You need to have it mounted.

Possibly the easiest method for you is to use Yast - System - Partitoner

There is a warning - just accept

You should be able to see the hard drive in the list it gives you. Highlight it. And edit.

Make sure do not format is checked. Enter a mount point eg; /media
set fstab options ‘mountable by user’

the drive will be mounted in your tree at /media

Don’t worry if it doesn’t work, Reply back here and we can manually edit /etc/fstab

Yast, System, Partitioner.

You should see the blank disk. Create a partition on the empty drive, format it with the file system of your choice and mount it somewhere.

Caf4926 - You suggestion work … … I was able to see it in media …I run Evolution has mail client and I needed to copy the folders into USB drive … I need some important mail in my mailbox …
