Just a heads up. I just installed openSuse 13.1 and I’m quite new to Linux.
As the title says, when I start Skype (4.2) webcam will not work. In the options window it is just black. But if I the start Cheese, let the webcam picture show and the close Cheese, then I can see the video in Skype options window.
Anybody else with the same problem? Any idea on how to solve it?
Kind regards
Primerone
Might mention what camera hardware.

Skype is now at version 4.3 - you might start by updating it.
I actually had problems with 4.2 (just in general) on 13.1, and 4.3 seems
to have solved most of them.

The webcam is an external USB cam named “Genius”, model is “Look 320S”.
You might just need to configure your webcam via skype.
With the cam plugged in give use
