Wondering if any one else is having this problem lately under 11.4. My Skype does not want to launch any more. When I click to open Skype, the tray icon will pop up for 1 second and then just disappear. Have tried launching from command line to see if there are any messages, but it just says aborted when you try launch it.
I noticed this started happening randomly when I had the laptop in hibernate and then would resume, Skype would then just disappear and then I would just relaunch it and it would be find again.
Any feedback on what could be happening would be appreciated. Just wondering if this has anything to do with Microsoft having bought Skype :sarcastic:
For me it works fine.
Try to remove ~your_user_name/.Skype/shared.xml or move it in another place and after this start Skype.

yep, same thing happened to me, and apparently a lot other skype users.
something went wrong with their system it seems, even though nobody
bothered to explain what. according to what i read mostly windows users
were affected, but a few others as well. deleting that .xml file got my
skype working again.

Ok so it worked only in that i could launch skype again, but it is still mysteriously aborting during use. Any more ideas as to what could be causing this?
