Six days without any updates: is that normal?

Hello,

I have had a fresh install of Leap 15.0 since early Beta - and with no real problems at all. I was merely wondering if there should have been an update, from any of my thirteen repos, since Wed 5/23, when I got my last one. I did zypper dup of course, and all is listed as up to date.

Thanks Lizard-Gurus!

Can you share your configured repos please?

zypper lr -d

Hi, deano_ferrari, thanks for responding.

You have duplicate OSS update repos (4 and 14) but that shouldn’t cause an issue.

Do the following and report back…

zypper clean
zypper up

@deano_ferrari

Same thing.

Nothing to do

Examine /var/log/zypp/history. The last 20 entries for example…

tail -n 20 /var/log/zypp/history

There was a kernel update around May 23. Did you get that?

I think I saw an “enigmail” update yesterday. But you might not have that installed.

Hi nrickert,

No enigmail, because I don’t have it installed, but I did get the kernel update and two libGraphicsMagick updates, on the cusp of the 23rd/24th - then nothing.

Hi again deano_ferrari,

I’m just showing the kernel’s last install/remove activity, there…

Then you are probably up to date. The “enigmail” update is the only one that I remember since the kernel and libGraphicsMagick updates. Looking at “/var/log/history”, I see “sox” and “libsox” from packman, and I see “enigmail”. The other recent ones that I see all look like software that I explicitly installed.

@ nrickert & deano_ferrari,

Sounds good; thank you for your patience and attention to this matter.

I have been a general user of openSUSE since the pre-Leap, Harlequin (13.2) days; but I don’t remember going quite this long without any sort of update - from at least one of the copious repos. Plus, the Beta/RC matured into the Stable up in the middle of those ‘no-update’ dates, so I figured I should go ahead and make sure this could be a normal situation.

Also, it was pointed out that I have the duplicate OSS-Update repos; which one should I keep - they differ in the URL and description a tad?

Thanks again!

The one I included in the above quote is the repo normally installed. So I would suggest you keep that one.

Got it, thanks and take care!
