Sitecom 300 N WL-181 Wireless not working out the box

Hello,

I am using Opensuse 11.3 and mine Sitecom 300 N Wireless PCI Card doesn’t work.

The card is using an Ralink RT2800P 11bgn WLAN PCI chipset, Opensuse load an RT2860 or RT2870sta firmware but this isn’t correct.

How to cnfigure the card i am since december 2010 busy please help me to figure this out .

Read this SITECOM WIRELESS PCI CARD 300N-XR WL-181 XR driver, software or SITECOM WIRELESS PCI CARD 300N-XR WL-181 XR drivers & update - Diplodrivers

I gave the driver who you need.

sorry this doesn’t work site is being blocked by security software. Still need the drivers for the card under opensuse 11.3 64 bits.

I will try to find asolution to this problem.

hello the link you have send me is completely wrong the site is trying to install malware and has an very bad rating worthless can someone other help to fix this.

OOps!!! Has It malware? Sorry for this!!!

Why do you think the rt2870sta is the incorrect driver? According to the information I see on this card it’s correct.

What’s the output from lspci.

If you use the command “dmesg | grep firmware”, do you get any messages about requested firmware failing?

Hello The RT2870sta or RT2860 sta is correct but the rt2800 firmware/driver is loaded and i need to know how to disable the RT2800 and how to enable the RT2860sta or RT2870sta thats all. I will send you later the lspci and dmesg | grep firmware.

If you go into yast and select your wireless nic, you should be able to specify which driver it uses.

hello lspci reports back RALINK RT 2800 802.11 N PCI this is correct but the firmware is RT2870 and still i have no connection. In yast i can’t change the firmware how do i get this working.

hello i have run the dmesg grep firmware command and it reports back rt2860bin kernel module loaded rt2870sta, lspci reports an RT2800 so the confusing is complete please advise how to get working the wireless.:’(

If you need RT28x0sta instead of rt2800 then you need to blacklist conflictiong drivers. Put this text into /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf:

blacklist rt2800usb
blacklist rt2x00usb
blacklist rt2x00lib

then restart.

you can also try to remove them manually: rmmod rt2800usb;rmmod rt2x00usb; rmmod rt2x00lib
