SimpleNote won't install

I’m trying to install Simplenote. It works well on my Ipad and I can transfer the notes to my Laptop. I try to install the rpm but get n"othing provides ‘libuuid’ needed by the to be installed simplenote-2.27.1-1.x86_64"
Many of the answers say…use another app from the shop.
I have looked on the Open Suse software site and I got a Camel image and it seems there isn’t an rpm for Leap 16.
What can I do?

I think it’s on Snap but when I follow the commands to install it I get lots of red text saying the repo addresses aren’t right or somesuch…and that’s from the suse instructions.

You can use the flatpak.

I’m sure I have flatpak but couldn’t see it in the shop?

And Discover shows it right away.

Aw mate…I’m tired, I’ve been at this all day. I see I have flat hub in my repositories, why can’t I see it?

@Rowly openSUSE uses libuuid1, that should be installed, so select Solution 2

sorry malcolm, I’m double clicking on the downloaded zip and when it says install I get an error message.
I’m using Leap 16 with Gnome

You need to get the rpm;
https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-electron/releases/download/v2.27.1/Simplenote-linux-2.27.1-x86_64.rpm

zypper in <path/to/download/Simplenote-linux-2.27.1-x86_64.rpm

I don’t see flatpak on there…?

Repository number 1 is your USB pen drive where you installed Leap from. As the USB drive is not available, any package transaction will complain. So you need to remove it.
sudo zypper rr 1

The second problem is, that the URL of repo number 8 is incorrect. You can open Myrlyn->Extras->Configure Repositories. Mark the Snappy repo and hit edit. The URL must end on 16.0 instead of 16

zypper (rpm) and flatpak are completely different package managers. So it is normal that zypper does not show the flathub remote.

Malcolm shows you how to install the package via zypper. Flatpak is not involved here.

does Leap have Myrlyn? When I search the GUI I get no result

zypper se myrlyn

S | Name | Summary | Type
---+--------+---------------------+--------
   | myrlyn | package | 1.0.0-bp160.1.1 | x86_64 | repo-oss (16.0)

Yes, Leap has Myrlyn. It may not be installed by default (dependend which pattern you have choosen when you installed Leap).

After you have removed the repo number 1 (the USB stick), any zypper command will succeed and you can install Myrlyn via
sudo zypper in myrlyn

https://en.opensuse.org/Flatpak

Here is how to get it set up - it should then work with Discover or Gnome Software.

Sorry that was meant for Rowly

I deleted that USB. Installed Myrlyn but it won’t open because I need to refresh repos. I did that and it repeats…do I need a reboot?
Ah! No, that looks like I wasn’t running it as sudo.

Myrlyn does disable invalid repos for one run. So Myrlyn should open and temporary disable the snappy repo. But you should be able to edit it via the described way.
