Simple app for cut and past things on Desktop

Hi all,

I am looking for a simple app that cut and past some thing that is been displayed on my desktop.

For example, I am writing a document and need to put a image there, but this image is in another document!

I do not know if I have made myself clear! If you guys did not understand I van try explain better!

Thanks!

AFAIK almost any “advanced” document editing app will work, eg OpenOffice Writer.

Now, if you were asking about the related function “DragNDrop” that’d be something more special and likely would be supported only within an application suite if at all unlike CutNPaste which likely requires only Clipboard support.

it depends on the desktop; KDE has Klipper which stores the last half a dozen cuts and allows you to paste any of them. I find that some applications clear the cut buffer as part of some actions, so losing the last cut from another application. In this case, I can usually find it in Klipper’s history.

You can adjust the history in klipper of course. klipper should be there by default in kde

If you use the Gnome desktop, you need to install something like ‘parcelite’, and works much the same as klipper
