Signature permissions

Hey DenverD,

>i get an error: “BB code url is not allowed.”

Oh…that’s right. I forgot that we disabled that because of the number
of spammers we were getting on the HTTP side that put links in their
signature lines.

Hi
But if you manually enter the following in your signature block;

DenverD (Linux Counter 282315)
CAVEAT: http://is.gd/bpoMD

Hey FeatherMonkey,

>Hehe that’s a bug I have no bb code too

You do have BBCode. You evidently had it before we turned it off so
you are “grandfathered”

Man first, have a try at Info, have a look at
Wiki, if all that
fails Scroogle!!!
If I’ve helped click on the Rep button I don’t know what it does but it
sounds cool.

That’s what I figured Kim just in profile it says the same as everyone else. Reckon if I change my sig it’ll go but I’m not checking hehe

yes, i copied that the first time you said it and i put a slight variation of your recipie (see here: ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing) i just put it so “Caveat” is the link, instead of the short URL…

but, when i click to save that URL in the sig i get the error i mentioned earlier, see ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

whaaaaaaaaaa!

whaaaaaaaaaa!

I think you’ll live. Look at me. I’ve been URL free in my sig line for two years now and haven’t looked back.

still, i would appreciate an answer as to why can i not have a
clickable URL in my http sig?

others do? (and the first has a similar “grandfathered” date as mine…)

My guess is that you didn’t have a URL in your signature before the no
URL setting was put in place.

And it probably is a minimum post threshold, since the NNTP posts were
all using an identity not linked to “DenverD”…

I would think, though, with an account linked to an HTTP account the post
count would go up significantly enough in a couple of days to meet that
threshold… I just don’t recall offhand what the threshold is.

Hey Jim Henderson,

No…it’s disabled for everyone but staff.

OIC, I think I was thinking about the BBCode stuff instead.

That’s it. BBCode URL is disabled.
