No such problem on tumbleweed on metal, but in a tumbleweed guest, after telling system settings to show the sidebar, it’s all black, i can’t even see how to switch back to icon view. Fairly recent .iso, packages fully updated within last couple days.
Is this a live Tumbleweed system written to a USB drive?
If it is, then any changes you have made were written to a “hybrid” partition on the USB. It will be partition 3. You can try removing that partition or reformatting it so that it is empty.
it’s a tumbleweed kvm guest in a .qcow2 file in the filesystem of the host which is also tumbleweed.
I’m currently using Leap for my KVM host.
When I have problems, I boot the guest system to an iso or to a USB for repairing.
as a workaround i discarded ~/.cache/systemsettings
and ~/.config/systemsettingsrc
to get out of sidebar mode and i’m just learning to love icon mode.
