Shutdown 'hangs' 11.3

Greetings.

Now I’m not sure whether this is right here, but as I’m running OS11.3 x64 I’m going to post it here.

Ever since I installed the system I’m having irrate problems on shutdown.
It hangs on two to three different points.
Mostly when the WLAN-Interface (wlan0) is to be shut down (after 1st step)
Sometimes same for eth0, alas that shouldn’t even be up, as I’ve switched it to start “on cable connection”
Sometimes it hangs on udev.

rarely it doesn’t hang at all.
I always have to hit the <return>-key at least once to proceed.

Any idea how i could get rid of this?

Update the kernel

I’m already on 2.6.34.7-0.5

And I can’t afford to wreck my laptop now b/c some of the progs I need for my studies are licensed for Linux and not windows - thus no further kernel.org kernel updates.
