Shutdown freeze

After I upgrade to 15.3 (full installation), I can no more shutdown. LEAP always freeze. Messages are :

  • Reached target Final Step
  • Starting Halt… and freeze

It should be safe to manually power-off at that point.

This is not clear. Did you upgrade using YaST from 15.2, or using zypper? Or, did you install afresh 15.3?

Did you do updates after the upgrade? e.g. sudo zypper up. If you did not, your upgrade/installation is probably incomplete. Updates after installation add two repos that aren’t on the installation media.

I do all this and nothing change.

Exactly how are you selecting to shutdown? Do you log out of a GUI desktop session, then select shutdown from the login greeter? Or, do you select to shutdown from within your X session? What GUI session type do you use?

If you login as some other user, does the problem remain?

Try switching to a different display manager: sudo update-alternatives --config default-displaymanager. Which have you been using? GDM? SDDM? LightDM? XDM? Other?
