Does anyone know where there might be a log of the shutdown errors I see flash on the screen when I shutdown the system? I thought they’d be in the warning log. Or is there a way to freeze that screen so I can actually read what is happening?
Thanks

If you are really in the shutdown phase, then logging is disabled at that point,
thus there will be no permanent record. I am also not aware of any way to pause
the screen.
What kinds of errors are you seeing? Usually anything that shows up during
shutdown is not really important.

use your camera/phone/etc to make a film you can play back and pause…

Take a photo of the screen

The logs stop at the point the disk partitions are umounted. For stopping
the process, you can hack the halt script and add a pause, enough to read
or take a photo.
