Hi, I’m using Acer 5750G with Linux 3.11.10-7-desktop
openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64)
KDE4.11.5
Most things work fine out of the box. But during Shutdown and Resume sometimes the laptop hangs with the kde splash screen. In this state it is even not possible to switch to another terminal with Strg+Alt Fn. Any ideas how to cure this are appreciated.
Thanks
Yes. It’s the kernel. A patch for Acer laptops was added to kernel 3.12x and higher. Add the repo below with (kernel-desktop-3.13.7-1.1.ga68bc7c.x86_64.rpm) to YaST and update the kernel-desktop.
After updating reboot.
Yes, it’s an Optimus system and the new kernel has powered off the nvidia card, you probably didn’t use it any how, now your battery will last longer too.
