show date of thread starter

Hmm, could we show the date of the first post to a thread? There’s a lot of space next to the member name. It would make it easier to judge if it’s relevant, somebody’s just dug up an old thread, or it’s a long continuing story.

You mean at every Post? To avoid scrolling to the top to see the date of the first Post?

No, in the table of threads in a forum or a search result, of course.

I too would second this. It’s been on my mind some time. Good idea. It would also flag potential spammers who resurrect old threads, which I usually recognise by the title.

I am not going there that often, but I just did to see what you mean and must admit that I sometimes also miss it. Only the date of the last post is there (in another column). But I agree that changing the Thread Starter info to e.g.

hcvv (on 2010-03-12 12:17)

is usefull and as you said, space enough.

Good suggestion but it fits into the category of making a template
customization that is hard to maintain. See this message:
