Should I let Amarok catalog my music collection?

Hi all,

What is the value of letting Amarok catalog my music folder?

I tried a couple of times of letting Amarok do this, but it seems to take forever, so I just gave up on it.

My music is on a network folder, would Amarok load the whole catalog onto my workstation?

Let it run. You’ll have playlists, Amarok will keep track of your favorite music, you’ll be able to seach your collection very easily…

Yes, it stores it in a database, very small footprint.
