Tumbleweed 20220826 with KDE Plasma 5.25.4.
I carry my laptop back and forth between office and home setup. I have identical docking stations in both places, but with different peripheral hardware attached (monitor, mouse etc). I have configured two activities (with the default shortcut meta-tab to switch between both). I have also added a keyboard layout widget to my panel, with two languages/keyboard layouts set up, switchable with short-cut meta-alt-k. I use the same keyboards in the office and at home, but need to type in two languages. I also added short-cuts for aligning the current window in the left/right/top/bottom half of the screen (meta key with arrow keys).
Everything works well at home, where I initially set up this configuration. But in the office, the shortcuts for the activity switcher, keyboard widget, and window placement don’t work. They simply don’t react, although the shortcuts are still configured when I go into the respective settings.
At work, the keyboard widget also disappears from the panel. When I go to edit mode to add a new one, it says there is already a widget. I can keep adding more of them, and the counter for the number of identical widgets goes up, but the widgets are not shown in the panel. When I add a keyboard switcher widget to the desktop and go into the settings for it, it only shows one of the two languages. I have to click on some settings and click apply before the other language comes back.
This is really annoying because it disturbs my workflow. How can I make sure the short-cuts work in the office as well and the widget is shown and language setting does not get reset? Thanks.
