SFX archive ?

Hi,

I’ve got a batch DOS (I can’t show it) for windows which contain some instructions and use other files located in sub-folders

Folder
+MyBatch
|
+SubFolder1
|
++files
|
+Subfolder2
++Files

etc

I would like to create an SFX archive, using a shell command, this is important, in order not to send it in a zip format : Folder.exe instead of Folder.zip

I’ve tried several ways using 7-zip (cat 7zS.sfx config.txt Folder.7z > Folder.exe) but nothing never works.

Anyone knows a (very) good manual to do this ?

thanks

Hi,

I am relative sure that it is not possible to create a SFX windows archive on linux with the common tools, because windows executables cannot run on linux and vice versa.

The only thing you can try is to use wine and install winzip (or something similar).

hope this helps

Hi
7za will create sfx archives, have a look at the man page;

7za a -sfx archive.exe dir1
