This might be a strange and unnecessary one, but I need to do the following:
I have a box running OpenSuSE 11.4, while my boss is running a box with WindowsXP Prof on it.
We need to make files shareable.
The problem is that I will NOT allow Wine to run on my box (so teamviewer is out), and do not want him to be able to get into any other files - in other words, I want a closed system.
I tried setting up a VPN via Network Manager, but I don’t understand half of what is needed - the gateway and stuff like that.
What other ways do I have to make a folder shareable, without having to go to extreme measures?
I have a wireless network running, and we do not have LAN at the moment - although that is a possibility.
This is quite urgent - please let me know!
BTW - if I come across as as noob, shout at me - I have been using Linux since before the days of the GUI, but I have never had to do something like this.

The linux port is a windows application running in wine (the wine is
included in the teamviewer rpm).

You could setup samba server and share a directory on your machine. I am not
sure if this is the easiest solution. The partner can the use simply windows
explorer.
I do not really get the point why you need a vpn.
Other solution is to configure a ftp with yast and give read/write access to
one directory. There are simple ftp clients for the windows user available,
even the windows file explorer can handle it.
Another simple way is you create a dummy user which is allowed to login via
ssh. scpwin can then be used for file transfer to the home directory (which
acts as the shared folder) on the windows machine.
