Hi,
i run opensuse 12.2 64bit on an hp pavillion vd 9000 with a usb stick for mobile broadband. When i boot, mobile broadband is not automatically activated and i need to click on it under connections to activate.
It should not be a big deal, if it werent that several components, like owncloud or rss feeds report a connection error initially and i have to manually connect them after MB is activated, and that’s quite tiring after a while.
Is there a way to set MB to automatically start on boot?
This RH guide may help you with that
The openSUSE directories are slightly different, but not hard to adjust to suit.
Thanks for your reply. So must i use ifup? In network manager settings–>mobile network–>choose MN connection there is a checkbox that says automatic connection, but does not seem to do anything if i check it. Is this a network manager bug or is network manager not meant to work that way?

If you want it connected during boot, then ifup is the answer. I’ve never tried configuring my mobile broadband connection for automatic connection with NM, but you’d probably need to make it a system connection, and let NM manage the connection secret.
