Session manager problems

I’ve been attempting to get kde 4.3 running on os 11.1 without much success. I had the development version of 4.2x installed from Factory, and I removed as much of that as possible, however, when I attempt to install 4.3 from the “one-click install” I am getting too many conflict messages to proceed (one-click turns into >50…).

I still have gnome and xfce on board, however the session manager is acting up. On the login screen, “xfce session” is italicized and when I select it, it loads gnome (“gnome” loads gnome). If I select “ICEWM”, it loads xfce.

/usr/share/xsessions has desktop configuration files for each.
