Services Manager duplicated in YaST

Morning all,

I’m using the pre-release openSUSE 13.2 and have noticed something strange.

In YaST the Services Manager is duplicated in the list.
Both entries work as expected.

It’s obviously not a major problem, I was just wondering if anyone else was seeing the same?

Yes, everybody should see the same…

It will even be mentioned in the release notes:

This has been fixed a few days ago. A bit too late for 13.2 though, but the fix will be released as online update.

How to eliminate the duplicate Service Manager entry in Yast?

As I wrote in the bug report, removing /usr/share/applications/YaST2/runlevel.desktop helps. That’s the one that shouldn’t be shown at all, as it has the option “Hidden=true”.

But I don’t see this as a big issue. Personally I don’t bother at all.

Anyway, I don’t understand why the update still hasn’t been released for 13.2. It has been fixed in October/November already… :\

I had zypper duped 13.1 to 13.2 and since then I have two Services Manager entries in YaST. I knew there must be a solution so Google brought me here. Is it OK to rename /usr/share/applications/YaST2/runlevel.desktop to /usr/share/applications/YaST2/_runlevel._desktop.back or to simply delete it? Should I just wait for official patch through YOU?

Simply delete it.

Should I just wait for official patch through YOU?

Yes, you can. An update is running at the moment and should be released in the next days.

Personally, I just ignore that “problem”. It’s not critical at all anyway IMHO.
