What’s going on with the servers? I haven’t been able to access the
forums or the wiki in over 12 hours.

http://www.isup.me/ reports: “It’s not just you! http://opensuse.org
looks down from here.”
my guess is they were ‘fixing it’ again over the weekend, and killed it,
again.
if it wasn’t so often it would be a little bit funny that an IT
organization has so much trouble doing “IT” stuff…
the good news is: since also suse.com, suse.de, novell.com, and
netiq.com are ALL down (but attachment.com is not) maybe at last we
get the attention needed to actually FIX the problem[s]…
rather than just constantly fiddle with the symptoms…
we can hope.

Ah! So that will be the reason that I don’t see anything via nntp. Last
message about 6:00 UTC.
But there are also very few messages via email on the mail list, too. I
posted an email there about this, no answer.

Either Attachmate is in over its head or it isn’t serious about Linux.
The latter doesn’t make sense, it was Novell’s biggest (only) money
maker at the end. Unless the only intention is to sell it, but the way
things are going it would have to be at a loss. Attachmate doesn’t seem
to be very tech OR business savvy.

As I’ve explained before, the IT functionality was outsourced by Novell
and that’s why sometimes it takes a while to get things addressed.
The good news is that with the progress being made, taking the systems
back is happening as well, which means better support.

Yes, there is in fact progress being made.
Many of the login issues have been addressed - and that was the big issue
for some time.
That doesn’t mean everything is fixed. But as I have stated numerous
times, progress has continued to be made. Not as fast as anyone would
like to see (including those who are actually working on the problems),
but things are slowly getting better.

Jim, all the openSUSE sites have been down for a big part of the day,
Sunday. That doesn’t look as progress.

Hi
AFAIK, if everything goes down, that is not related to the forum
issues… a bigger problem somewhere…

I was talking about the forum issues specifically.
