Two days ago I have updated my system from openSuse 11 to 11.1. Everything during installation was OK. After installation I have noticed that after loading my system is freezing and I can not do anything. Even mouse is not mooving. I have installed it on my laptop HP Compaq (HP Compaq nc6120 / Intel Celeron M 1.5GHz/1GB RAM/HDD 40GB/Grafika Intel 915GM System-OpenSUSE11.1/KDE4.1).
So, when plug is connected laptop immediately freezing, at this moment I can work only when I use battery, without charger.
You said you did a upgrade. Is that what you mean - or did you do a full new install.
Might be worth clearing all boot arguments and just type in the number:
3
edit to the above for clarity:
Pause the boot by moving the down arrow, then back up to the default boot. But now press backspace, it should delete any text where you can see VGA=.
Remove all text and now type just the number:
3
and hit enter
at the login type your user name and then password
now type:
su
then the root password
login as user and then go su and do
zypper ref
then
zypper dup
It has to be said I would favor a fresh new install always. You can keep /home as it is of course.
