Serious problem, preventing all network access

Hi,

I installed openSUSE 11.2 on my desktop PC. The chipset is nvidia nForce2.

Right after install all works perfectly, but on the first restart no network adapters is found (I have two of them, but none is found, tried removing one, but it didn’t change anything).

And I noticed such message during boot:

    6.865558] ACPI: I/O resource nForce2_smbus [0x5000-0x503f] conflicts with ACPI region SM00 [0x5000-0x5005]
6.865595] ACPI: If an ACPI driver is available for this device, you should use it instead of the native driver
    6.865600] nForce2_smbus 0000:00:01.1: Error probing SMB1.
    6.865732] i2c-adapter i2c-0: nForce2 SMBus adapter at 0x5100

Any help in finding the solution would be really really appreciated.

Thanks!
RimZi

I have the same messages, but network works fine (ethernet, wifi).

Well, the network works with other systems with no problems.

Symptoms from my perspective: ifconfig does not show any network interfaces on first reboot, except the loopback adapter (lo). And (as a consequence perhaps) the network manager does not start at all.

Very annoying, maybe I should file a bug report on that :\
