Hi. I don’t know if it’s the right place but I’ll post it here.
I live in brazil. I wnet to the english version of opensuse site, clicked in the direct link option to download opensuse leap dvd. My download started but I had serious issues. Most times I was not able to donwload for more than 10 or 15 minutes before speed slowed down and the download stopped. Sometimes I received a timeout message. Then I checked the real download link and found that it came from a brazilian mirror (ending in .br). Than I paused the download, deleted the brazilian link and pointed it to US and canadian mirrors. Now I’m getting a full speed download without issues.
Here in brazil most people, when having computing problems say: “i was not able to…” and give up. Furthermore very few people use linux. So if anyone is ever inclined to try opensuse, unless he’s a geek, it’s very unlikely that he’ll change mirrors to go on. And if everyone who tries opensuse in brazil have the same issues I had, probably very few people will use it here.
(I could not post the link here because I tried to start a new download again but the page could not even be loaded.)
If anyone can do anything about it it will be appreciated.
Thanks.
