I am facing an issue with serial connection after upgrading to openSUSE 11.1 from 11. I am not able to see any messages in dmesg when serial is connected. Please help me troubleshooting this.

There’s nothing to troubleshoot.
Serial TTY are basically stateless and non-PNP, so unless there is a special
serial driver watching e.g. the control lines like DSR, the kernel isn’t
interested in whatever happens on these interfaces.
