Selinux snap broken TW VERSION="20250217"

Dear All,
after moving from apparmor to selinux my snaps are broken and trying to use snap leads to: "error: system does not fully support snapd: cannot mount squashfs image using “squashfs”.

Please can you advise me how to proceed, your help is really appreciated! Thank you in advance.

BR Niclaas

Snapd requires apparmor, to the best of my knowledge.

At least if you want it to work properly and do all the proper sandboxing and whatnot.

I don’t think it’s compatible with SELinux

Can you try the recommended solution here?

Thank you very much. Yes, when checking systemctl status snapd, apparmor is mentioned as precondition. So switching back to AppArmor for now solved the problem.

Thank you so much, but it didn’t work. On Tumbleweed AppArmor is a precondition for snapd, so I had to switch back for now, what did the trick. Thanks!

Even this may not be enough for Tumbleweed.

It might help to have a look at these threads to understand the source of the issue.

Hi,

after a fresh installation,how to switch back to AppArmor? Searching the www was not successful. I’d like to avoid to do a complete reinstall, if it is just a few steps.

Thanks

security=apparmor

on kernel command line.

Ligthning fast answer.
