Hi all,
I’m using openSUSE with KDE for a long time, but there is one thing that makes me nervous and I don’t know what the reason is (KDE, Opera or Google). This is the situation. I go to google search site and enter some text in one line query field then I press enter. After this, using the mouse I rapidly select the text in this field and left button of the mouse is released outside this field but the selection process is not end - when i move mouse inside query field the selection cursor moves regardless that mouse button is released. In windows with opera there is no this thing. Could you help me with this problem, please?

Mouse selection in Windows and Linux is different.

Of course it is different, but my question is how or where can I configure parameters related to this process. Configure Desktop app has no this option.
Used to be you could set this in Klipper config. Not sure you an still do that. I always use the ctr-c/v keys so copy and paste
I checked ‘Ignore selection’ option but this doesn’t help. Also after killing the klipper the behavior is the same. I forgot to tell you that when left button of the mouse is released outside the query field in about less than 200 ms the selection process continue, but if I wait more time before releasing button then all works fine.
You may have to release the mouse (record a specific mouse-up event) in order to mark the end of your selection. I always do but that is because I started using KDE and Windows at the same time and just got used to the way KDE did things.

then don’t move so rapidly, and all will be ok…problem solved.

I had to start opera, to find out what you were talking about. It works differently in firefox.
