Okay. I’m seriously trying to hop on the openSUSE bandwagon after using the Windows bloatware all these years.
My problem is this. I did a clean install of openSUSE and it wont even boot after installing it. I checked the md5 of the burned disc and I had the disc check itself, all are fine. I’m trying to do an automatic configuration if that helps any.
Here is the exact thing it says.
Segmentation fault
System Boot Control: The system has been (set up)
Failed features: (boot.apparmor)
Skipped features: (boot.cycle)
System Boot Control: Running /etc/init.d/boot.local
/usr/lib/YaST2/startup/common/misc.sh: line 56: export: =sr0': not a valid identifier /usr/lib/YaST2/startup/common/misc.sh: line 56: export: =/linux/suse/i386-11.0’: not a valid identifier
/usr/lib/YaST2/startup/common/misc.sh: line 56: export: `=0’: not a valid identifier
After it says that the system hangs. If anyone can help me out I’d be grateful.
Which install media did you use and what is your system? There may be some problem with your specific system that someone would recognize.
As you had no issues using the livecd, I would eliminate ram, cables, or overheating cpu as an issue. That leaves a failing hard drive or incorrect program on the iso. You could check for disk errors by booting with the livecd and using fsck. The bad iso can be checked by doing a system update. Boot with the livecd and update the system on the hard drive from network.
Well, I’ve narrowed it down to one thing. Linux HATES Nvidia cards. I can set up the system no problems if I remove it. But I NEED my card. If I load up the system, then shut down and try to install my card, it crashes again.
If you mean by Nvidia card you,re Graphic card than I disagree .
Nvidia graphic cards are well supported with opensuse
But I notice a other think why did apparmor
start up ?
Did you configure it ?
