I mostly use Chromium to use these forums, keep tabs open for those forums I frequent, and occasionally tabs for threads in which I have interest and/or participated. On posting in a thread and return to the forum from which opened by clicking the forum title link, $SUBJECT always appears. I consider that a bug. If I don’t click it or reload, it’s continues telling what amounts to a lie, and wasting space. It may be new to others, but it has no reason to be reported new or updated to me. It’s the top thread topic I just came from in the freshly loaded page.
This would probably be better reported upstream, but I’d like to see what others think, or whether perhaps they use a browser where this doesn’t occur.
I agree with hui that a screenshot would be useful here. We are in need of applying some updates, so I’d want to test it against a more current version of Discourse, but I suspect I know what the issue is - and if it is, we have been talking about making a change that would address it (but it’s not a simple change, either).
OK, I think I understand what it is that you’re seeing, and upstream can’t fix this. This is an artifact of how we are currently deployed, and they’re not going to be able to do anything to help us with it.
We’ve got the start of a plan to address this, but it’s going to take a little time.
