isn’t it just a little embarrassing that there are no geeks associated
with this distro who can figure out how to deliver these important
announcements to these fora in a more timely manner?
this one is only three days old…
others have come which were far older.

We changed over from the web-based RSS feed to the announce mailing list
feed, as was suggested. There’s bound to be some overlap and lag when
changing the feeds over.

if that solves the too slow problem, then that is good news!

we will see if it stays fixed now that the “overlap and lag” has passed.

Indeed it is hoped that it will - but it depends on the RSS feed from the
mailing list being updated in a timely fashion, too. But now we’re as
close to the original source as we can get without actually being the
mailing list.

Indeed we shall. I certainly think that having timely information is
important (as do we all). There are so many hands to do the work, and so
priorities get set - and not always the priorities that you or I would
prefer to see - so we do the best we can with what we have available.

yes, it has been painfully obvious (as long as i’ve been here in these
fora) that the the openSUSE forum was very low on Novell’s list of
priorities…christmas bonuses for the board always seemed to be number
one, and this place number last.
well, i never got that feeling in the old Novell support groups before
three groups were folded together…

As you know, the infrastructure is donated, as is the admin time (the
three site admins as well as the tech admin).
But we’ve had this discussion before and there’s no reason to have it
again.
