Secure OpenSuse?

Hello,

what will be the recommendations, how I can harden the OpenSuse Linux system against all kinds of vunerabilities?

Greetings,

No, too generic of a question. For a person who needs to ask I would say openSUSE is quite secure by default. If you want to research this is a good place to start. openSUSE: Security Guide | ActiveDoc

Also know that the weakest point of computer security is the person in the chair. Good luck.

Hello,

Thanks for the hint to the Security-Guide, a good configuration is always necessary.

In general, many naive users trusted the reputation of companies or even democratic systems.

But this trust-model broke down and there was many surprises not in the chairs in front of the computer - more in the backbones, operating systems, apps, etc. pp.

Hello,

I hope that OpenSuse is not one of the very weak endpoint IT-systems…

*Encryption works. Properly implemented strong crypto systems are one of the few things that you can rely on. Unfortunately, endpoint security is so terrifically weak that NSA can frequently find ways around it. *

Where I can find some security-statements, how safe should be OpenSuse in detail?

P.S. I know there will be no absolut security, but some decent engineering and security analysis will help to…
