Second screen does not wake up from suspension

I have got a laptop equipped with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphic card connected via HDMI cable to an external monitor (an Asus VP28UQGL).

When I wake up the laptop from suspension the external screen does not wake up, although the system detects the second screen, and I can still move windows to it.
The only way to make the second screen available again is to switch it off, unplug the HDMI cable, wait for the laptop to get back to single-screen mode, re-plug the HDMI cable and turn the screen on again.

This happens regardless I choose the intel or the nvidia graphic card through prime-select

Any suggestion?

Hi,
I’ve just started a similar thread:

did you check if KScreen 2 is running as a background service? (if you are using KDE)
