Have you actually formatted it? Like with Parted?

I cant see the disk from livecd.

Re-check all the connections.
Use Parted Magic

Do you have windows? Can it see the disk?

If you still can’t see it. then I would suggest it’s Jeffed!

Windows do not see it. I am now reading manual from producer website and it says ‘User should configure (set master/slave) the disk before install’. I removed the disk and set it as a slave. Buntu live cd can now read it. Doing Disk tests atm.

Will post the outcome.

Never heard that with SATA - v. odd

Yeah, its strange, its Samsung (better than chinese). I misplaced the manual earlier but managed to resolve it now.

Good news. Well done!

Thanks mate.

You are always helpful, appreciate it.

I try a little.

Funny. I just added a 500GB WD HD
I just connected it up and Bingo

I was tempted by this one at ebuyer, but decided on WD

I got the disk (6 in all ) for 50 AUD a piece in QLD.
