I’ve installed 500 GB SATA hard disk but SUSE doesnt see it. The BIOS recognized the disk. What do I do in order to get the disk show up as sdb.
Open a terminal and as su -

Have you actually formatted it? Like with Parted?
I cant see the disk from livecd.
Re-check all the connections.
Use Parted Magic
Do you have windows? Can it see the disk?
If you still can’t see it. then I would suggest it’s Jeffed!
Windows do not see it. I am now reading manual from producer website and it says ‘User should configure (set master/slave) the disk before install’. I removed the disk and set it as a slave. Buntu live cd can now read it. Doing Disk tests atm.
Will post the outcome.

Yeah, its strange, its Samsung (better than chinese). I misplaced the manual earlier but managed to resolve it now.
