Search for files does not work on Dolphin

Leap 15.4
KDE

I had this issue on 15.3 hoping to be fixed on 15.4. When I go to dolphin into any folder with files, if I press Ctrl+F and type anything to search for a file it says it can’t find anything. This is quite annoying specially when some folders have hundreds of files.
Any Idea how to fix it?

@cepiolidus:

With Leap everything previous and Leap 15.4, I’ve never experienced the issue you’re reporting.

Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.4

Which then begs the question – what’s different on your machine?

  • The KDE System Settings –
    → Section “Workspace” –
    *=2]→ “Search” –

Have enabled “File Search”?

  • You should reduce the searching to be done – as much as possible …
    Index file content only if, you really have to …
    Index hidden files and folder only if, you really have to …
    Index only your home directory …
    *=2]Index other directories only if, you really have to …

Try to reinstall Dolphin. You have a bug.
