I am a Mageia - Plasma user (version 5) and am so hooked on using the mouse wheel to scroll between virtual desktops that I dearly miss this now.
I did search the topics and found a few asking how to do the opposite, so I went thru the motions (Desktop , Mouse actions) and added one for the Middle button - switch desktop.
Rebooted to be sure, but no go, the scrolling only works when I point the mouse into the pager, with another effect I’ve never seen before:
I have 4 virtual dektops. When I point the mouse into the area of the virtual desktops I can scroll thru all 4. But when the mouse points somewhere else in the pager, I can only scroll thru the 2 desktops I have in use at that moment. Rolling the wheel on the rest of the desktop does nothing.
I want my scrolling back …plse.
I’m puzzled, because it seems to work for me.
I configured the mouse action for “vertical scroll” to switch desktop, and that switching seemed to work whenever the mouse pointer was on the background for the desktop.
Aye, its working fine here, if I enable it, on Kalpa (Same Plasma Desktop version and configuration as Tumbleweed)
Checked again after a fresh boot, it reamians as I described above. The only thing that i can dream of as a possible explanation, is that I run in a VBox on a desktop PC with nVidia graphics. Too far fetched???
An easy way to test that is to get a KDE LiveCD image, put in on an USB stick and boot that.
For a KDE LiveCD see openSUSE Tumbleweed - Get openSUSE and click Alternative Downloads
Nope, downloaded the KDELive and run it on my testing laptop (Radeon graphics), same behavior.
