Screensaver/powersaver not working

Thought I would try this once more…
Screensaver/powersaver has not worked (except on very rare occasions) for me for probably 18 months.
Have used Leap15.3 + Tumbleweed over that period - same result in both.
Using Plasma, a fairly basic system (generally standard apps, nothing outlandish, kept updated, etc.) Currently Plasma is V5.24.5
5year old Dell 9020/i5/16gbRAM/intel graphics etc.
Have submitted a KDE bug (which has basically been ignored.) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440350
If I use Wayland, everything seems to work, but Wayland will not do the correct resolution for my monitor.
This is REALLY frustrating.
Thanks.

Just saying “not working” does not really help others to understand any problem. You do not even say if is switched on at the moment and that you want to switch it off, or v.v.

I do not run KDE in English, so the names of the menu items may be a bit different then what you see.

KDE has System Settings > Workspace > Workspace Behaving > Lock Screen. And that has checkboxes for switching on/off and more.

Did you try to use that?

Not working, means exactly that - not working. Doesn’t matter what settings I use, (in Settings>System Settings>Screen Locking AND Settings>System Settings>Energy Saving) the screensaver AND the power time out, NEVER save, and NEVER timeout. Don’t know how else to say it?

Thanks.

Ok that is clear now. Specially the link to the earlier thread can make clear to people what is already done and advised.
