Screenlets? (How to install)

Hi;
I had been using Kubuntu 9.10 untill I upgraded myself to openSUSE 11.2.
I’ve upgraded to 11.3 then.
I switched to Gnome due to unstability of KDE that I used. Actually, I don’t know why I installed KDE to begin with. Anyway, that’s not the case.

I recently notice that I’m in need of using KDE’s folderview feature. I searched a little and I saw screenlets that allows Gnome user to have applets in their desktop. (Folderview screenlet)

However, I couldn’t find a way to install Screenlets.
PackMan :: Informationen zum Paket screenlets has no support for even openSUSE 11.2
Index of /repositories/home:/some-guy:/screenlets has Factory repos which I thought it’d be for 11.3; but when I tried to install via YaST but I got this error:

nothing provides python(abi) = 2.7 needed by screenlets-0.1.2-18.20.x86_64

Well, question is clear. What am I supposed to do?

If you add this repo:
Index of /repositories/devel:/languages:/python/openSUSE_11.3
still got that issue?

I think Python 2.7 is required and it’s not present on current repos.
Bad luck for me.

I have screenlets installed on my machine (using gnome desktop) and I think
you misinterpret the version number, most likely it wants some python
package which has a version >2.7 like python-gtk or so). Check the message
again. Python 2.6 is fine with screenlets.

openSUSE 11.2 64 bit | Intel Core2 Quad Q8300@2.50GHz | Gnome 2.28 | GeForce

openSUSE 11.3 64 bit | Intel Core2 Duo T9300@2.50GHz | Gnome 2.30 | Quadro

I have to disappoint you, you cannot claim that something is incorrect if it
does not work out the box for you. It is correct because I ran installed
screenlets on my wifes notebook (she has gnome 2.30, clock, weather and
calendar screenlets active) from the very beginning after I updated it to
11.3, of course it depends on the versions you use.

rpm -q screenlets
screenlets-0.1.2-18.1.x86_64

Hello.

I was running with the same problem. I solved it by downloading + installing the Python Base 2.7 from this site:

RPM Search OpenSuSE python-base 2.7 rpm

regards!
