Do i need to download new drivers?
My VGA is nvidia 7600GT i use opensuse 10.3.

thank you very much!

You do not need new drivers, you need proper (=nvidia) drivers. There’s a lot of posts on this matter as well as openSUSE wiki. What yu describe is typical for NVIDIA cards not having the proprietary driver, please google for openSUSE NVIDIA HOWTO

  1. Which tool were you trying to use (eg xvidtune)?

  2. What type of monitor? CRT? Resolution?

  3. Are you using nvidia driver? If using nvidia driver, did you try nvidia-settings utility?

  4. Post output of this command from terminal:

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf

  1. I used Xfine2 tool nothing happened
2)CRT LG ELECTRONICS T710BH is the model
    3)Yes, iuse nvidia drivers,how do i try nvidia-settings utility?

4)Here is what my output is:

What am i doing wrong?

Thank you very much!!

No, you don’t, you use the free “nv”-driver with restricted functionality.

You ignore the suggestions you got from Knurpht in posting Nr.2.

Thanks for the info supplied. Have a look at this NVIDIA HOW TO. It will show you how to install the proprietary driver.

BTW, your monitor specs from here show:

Max Resolution 1280 x 1024 / 66Hz
Recommend Resolution 1024 x 768 / 85Hz
H-Scanning Frequency 30 - 71 kHz
V-Scanning Frequency 50 - 160 Hz
