I’v been unable to set the screen saver timer since I can’t find it. I’v tried the suse wiki, no info. Right-clicking the desktop or Admin Yast doesn’t have it. Where are the timer settings?
If you are using the KDE Desktop on openSUSE 11.3 and KDE 4.4.4 you open the menu, then Personnel Settings, General Tab, Look & Feel, Desktop, and Screen Saver. The time is listed on the screen as a X select block to Start Automatically after xx minutes where you select the time before the screen saver starts.
If you are not using KDE or openSUSE 11.3 then you need to specify just what you are using so that we may direct you to the correct location.
Thank You,
Speaking of screen savers, what happened to the Matrix screen saver? I have only installed the kde screen saver. It’s not there. Is it in another like the gnome or xwindows savers? I don’t suppose I should install more than one.
Anyway, the ASCII fish are cool.
The Matrix screen saver is part of the KDE3 repository. I normally add these two to my repository list:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_11.3/
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Community/openSUSE_11.3/
Then I load up Software Management and search for screen. I then load/install kdeartwork3-kscreensaver & kdeartwork3-xscreensaver. You may need to log out and back into KDE to see the new screen savers as being present after the installation.
Thank You,
