I bought an HP G60 with a 16 inch monitor. I can’t get more than 800x600. When I go into Control Center it lists the display as LCD. When I try to change the monitor and do a test, the test doesn’t work properly.

HP is listed under the displays, but not one for the G60.

Can anyone help?

We need to know about your graphics card.

Also tell us if you are SUSE 11.0 or 11.1 and kde3/4 or gnome

Checked and your card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8200M so you should be able to get
the resolution working using the instructions here.

If the one-click doesn’t work try the “hard way”
