Screen full of artifacts after boot on fresh install

Hi all

I have encountered a problem and I am not sure how to solve it. Looking for some help.

I have a fresh 13.1 install and staraight after boot when desktop should be displayed, my screens (2) are all full of artifacts. Screens are completely unreadable, I can only see some shapes on the screen, and in few places some parts of some text.
System works flawlessly on Win8.1 and OpenSuse 13.1 recovery(?) mode, so I am suspecting driver issue.

Can anybody help please? I am only little familiar with linux and its CLI.

My Spec:
Intel i7 3770k
2x AMD r280x

Thank you.

Try to install the proprietary fglrx driver:

Is there a way to install it without access to internet? For some reason in Recovery Mode networking is disabled.
So is there a way to download these drivers on different machine, and then install them from i.e. USB stick?

Just download the appropriate (i.e. 32bit or 64bit) .rpm file from here: (take the newer one in either case)

Then to install it, just open it in a file manager, or type:

sudo zypper in fglrx-xxx.rpm

(replace fglrx-xxx.rpm with the actual filename)

But, if your network is not working in recovery mode, it most likely will not work in normal mode as well.
So you should maybe better fix that first.

But I would suggest to open a new thread for this in the Network resp. the Wireless forum.
And you should also specify what network card you have.

Hey, this works like a charm. Thank you
