Hi,
I am using openSUSE 11.2 on Sony Vaio VPCF11M1E. I can not adjust screen brightness. I installed Power Manager Brightness Applet 2.28.2 but it says “Cannot get laptop panel brightness”.

Your Notebook uses an NVidia GFX-card, so I recommend installing the correct driver and the package ‘nvidia-settings’ from Packman (not sure whether it is included when installing the driver from the NVidia-repository). With it you can set brightness, contrast and much more.
Ohh, thank you very much. I have already installed Nvidia drivers, since my screen is full hd. Before nvidia drivers, I was not using it with hd resolution. Anyway I forgot the nvidia driver settings application. Again thank you very much for reminding it to me. OK with that app, I dimmed the screen.
