I have recently been been looking at Scratch, an introduction to programming for beginners, mainly aimed at children. It is mainly used web-based, although it can be installed (see below). However, in the FAQ’s the devs say “We do not support Chromium.” Now this little “toy” is developed by the computer dept at MIT. And it works on Firefox, IE, Safari, Edge and Chrome. Surely the people at MIT could make the tweaks necessary? But they did not! Is there a way I could make it work on Chromium? I do not wish to install Chrome, with all of its Google baggage!
Also to install and work off-line, it demands… Adobe AIR!! Why oh why would the computing team at one of the world’s best universities use this awful steamer? ps is there an recognised way to install Air on to an opensuse system?
