School Network account login in Browser

Hey Forum,
I have a School acc which I can log into the Network over Lan in my school. Under Windows when I open a brwoser this just Pops up and wants me to login, but Opensuse is not doing that. So I just have no access to the Internet. How can I fix that?

regards, Felix

When that browser “pops up” with a window, write down the URL of the page that is shown. Then try that URL in the browser you use on openSUSE.

Hi, welcome

We need more info on the kind of webaccess your school is using. Some if these systems use Java, some Silverlight, some other techniques to provide a login screen.

Okay, the URL thing dont works because it just pops up without going to a specific one.
Okay let me try again to explain it better. We got an Account from the school which we can use to log in the PCs. And if were logged into the PCs we dont need to verify again in the Internet. I need a way to log into the Internet with opensuse. I dont know how it works with winfows on my own Laptop, if it maybe opens some URL because until now I only used school PCs and my opensuse Laptop.
I dont know any more specific sadly, but feel free to ask anything

Kind regards, Felix

That is called captive portal detection, where an interstitial web page (T&C and login) is displayed. Usually though, the browser will display this automatically before you can navigate anywhere else.

FWIW, there was a recent LQ forum question on this topic:
