Scanner buttons - any easy way to make them work?

Hello,

I’ve bought a new Canon CanonScan Lide 110 scanner and it’s working fine with Skanlite, however the hardware buttons on the scanner do absolutely nothing.
From what I’ve found ‘scanbuttond’ can be used to make it work but it’s outdated and scanbd is the new/maintained replacement.
I can’t however find a package of it for opensuse and my past compiling adventures have left me not to keen on trying it again.

Is there an easy way to make the buttons work or should I try my luck with compiling scanbd?

Hi
You don’t say which version of openSUSE?

Building now, follow the link in the ‘Build Results’ for a link to the download repo, x86_64 only unless you need 32bit?
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:malcolmlewis:TESTING/scanbd

Thank you Malcolm, looks like you missed a letter in the package description btw, at the very start it reads ‘canbd’ instead of ‘scanbd’.
I’m using openSUSE 13.1 - 64 bits btw so it installed fine, thank you.

I did however mess up my scanner settings it seems since after replicating the steps listed at https://www.eanderalx.org/linux/scanner_lide110 the scanner is no longer recognized, let alone the buttons working. Really wish these kind of things worked out of the box or were simpler to configure. I’ll see if I can get it working later today.
