Scan folder plugin for KTorrent missing?

I just noticed that KTorrent no longer detects new .torrent files which I put in the folder which I have dedicated to be watched by the application. Previously they were instantly detected by KTorrent and I got a dialog to specify where to download etc.

Is it possible that during some update this feature was removed? Where do I ask/report?

Yes, this was indeed removed in KTorrent 5.0.
Apparently it hasn’t been ported to Qt5/KF5 in time for the 5.0 release and/or was not considered to be very important.

It has been added back meanwhile though:

So it (and some other missing plugins) will be there again in a future release (5.1), I’m not involved in KTorrent’s development though so cannot tell you when this will be out.

FYI, ktorrent 5.1 has been released a few days ago (including the scanfolder plugin).
It is available now in the KDE:Extra repo for Leap 42.x too.

- Update to version 5.1.0
   * Multimedia, search, scanfolder, ipfilter, stats, scripting,
     syndication (rss) plugins are now ported to Qt5. The only
     missing bits are webinterface plugin and plasmoid.
