Scaling problem: bad artifacts

Hello,

There’s an annoying bug related to scaling I hope somebody can help me with. I’m running opensuse 15.1 on a 15" laptop with a resolution of 1920*1080, which makes everything difficult to read.
I therefore used the scale option in kde (1.1x or 1.2x) which works fine except that there’s a lot of artifacts everywhere in many KDE apps: KDE, Kate, Kwrite and so on. Basically, everytime there’s lines of text inside a KDE app.

I was wondering if anybody had found a fix/patch for this bug. Thanks.

There’s this openSUSE Forums thread: <https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/531677-New-Laptop-Screen-Resolution-Help-Please?highlight=KDE+hidpi+display>.
There’s this “how-to”: <https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/plasma-hd-scaling.html>.
For the case of KDE applications such as Konsole Kate and the PIM Suite (Kontact), you can setup each application individually.
