Save As options in Chrome/Chromium based browsers not working after X-ORG-X11 update on 22-12-2021

This all looks OK and as intended by you.

As said, I do not know how you did it. You can of course check with the preview button (something I would advice to everybody) and also see if there are BB tags by using the upper-left button A/A of the post editor.

I have the same problem with Chrome. I first noticed the issue with Gmail file attachments window would stay open only momentarily. Then, when downloading a file within Chrome the Save-To window would only appear for a moment. As suggested, I have downgraded packages xorg-x11-server-1.20.3-22.5.42.1 , xorg-x11-server-extra and xorg-x11-wayland but the behaviour has not changed. I have read through the thread but I’m not sure what resolution is proposed or is it just a bug that has been reported? Thanks.

Solution for Leap 15.3: downgrade packages xdg-desktop-portal-gtk and xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-lang from v. 1.8.0-3.6.1 to previous 1.8.0-3.3.1.
Solution for Leap 15.2: downgrade packages xdg-desktop-portal-gtk and xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-lang from v. 1.8.0-lp152.2.6.1 to previous 1.8.0-lp152.2.3.1.
Downgrade and lock until solution will be available.

This patch is causing errors: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Leap:15.2:Update/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.17299/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-idle-timeout.patch?expand=1

Thanks quite a lot !
Thinks work for me, also.

This while all other packages that made me believe, initially, to be the culprit(s) (xorg-x11-server-, or later systemd and udev*) are now at their latest versions.

Good one Svyatko thank you, downgrading 2 previous 1.8.0-3.3.1 works 4 this system!rotfl!

I have never experienced “IDLE_TIMEOUT_MS 1000” when booting my machines into Leap 15.3 and running the browsers.

For some reason in Plasma Wayland and Plasma Full Wayland this bug does not manifest itself.

All other graphic interfaces that I tried (IceWM, Enlightnment, Gnome and Gnome on Xorg) do have this bug.

After the downgrade, Vivaldi also works as it should.
I found it here. Thanks atilius for the solution.

I am here with another system with xdg-desktop-portal-gtk 1.8.0-3.6.1. And everything works as it should.
I think our friends have fixed the bug elsewhere.

Or I am a genius, but it is unlikely.

I haven’t done the upgrade but I noticed I can’t save pdfs in chromium anymore. I use the chromium built-in pdf reader. When I do the save the screen pops up and the disappears.

**Leap 15.3
**Thanks a lot! Was searching for weeks now - couldn’t find any relating errors in any logfile. This was the fix!
Maybe to mention that this error only occurs only on a machine with an AMD Radeon Graphics card - all NVIDIA are not affected.

Thankyou
Chestnet and forerunners,

I had the same problem,
(Yandex Browser and Edge Browser)

you saved me!

Greetings,
Holger

Recent update (released today, it seems) for xdg-desktop-portal-gtk, specifically new version 1.8.0-3.9.1 solved the issue/bug.
Now all above mentioned browsers work normal again (at least in this aspect  ).

This update worked for me as well!

There was nothing about the genius. Today on
xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-1.8.0-3.3.1.x86_64.rpm and
xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-lang-1.8.0-3.3.1.noarch.rpm
deferred.
